We are Doolally, a scrappy little restaurant company.

We are located in Mumbai & Pune and you can visit us at our taprooms in:

Co-founded by a grumpy German brewmaster and a detergent powder salesman, we opened our first outlet in October 2009.

Doolally means crazy or at least eccentric, like in our case, completely deranged.
The word finds its origins in a small town called Deolali in Nashik, with an unusual claim to fame.

In the 1800s, the British Army established a military base there and the soldiers would wait, often for months for ships to take them to England. Consequent boredom and heat drove many a soldier a little crazy and the phrase, ‘Going Doolally’ was coined.
